I hold a master's degree in Medical Biotechnologies for Diagnostics and Therapy from the University of Urbino. My master's thesis was titled: production of Biotinylated RBCEVs for targeted drug delivery. The research focused on the optimization of a bioengineering protocol for the production of biotinylated RBCEVs ( red blood cell extracellular vesicles) intended for targeted drug delivery. I am now a PhD student and my project aims to develop a human Nose -to-CNS organ-on-a-chip model. This microfluidic system will integrate the olfactory epithelium and the blood brain barrier in order to simulate two drug delivery pathways: the neuroanatomical bypass via the nose and the traditional route across the BBE. The goal is to create a predictive and ethical platform capable of measuring the differential efficiency of drug access to the brain.Â
