Celebrating Our First PhD Graduate: Congratulations, Ludovica!

On February 27th, our PhD student Ludovica Montesi successfully defended her thesis, “Shear Stress and Neuronal Pathologies: Organ-on-Chip Models to Study Neurovascular Interactions.” Supervisor: Prof. Rossana Rauti; Co-Supervisor: Prof. Riccardo Cuppini.
Her research focused on the development of 3D-printed organ-on-chip models to investigate the effects of flow on neurovascular unit (NVU) cells.
She was awarded her PhD degree with honors and received the distinction of Doctor Europaeus.
Ludovica will now continue her research in our lab as a postdoctoral researcher, further exploring NVU cross-talk.
